This Privacy Policy explains how PractiMate AI ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares your information when you use practimateai.com and the related products and services that link to this policy (the "Services"). PractiMate is an interview practice tool: you answer interview questions out loud or in writing, and we use artificial intelligence to give you feedback. If you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment is processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number on our own servers; that information is handled directly by Stripe under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). We may receive limited details such as your subscription status and the result of a payment.
Like most websites, our hosting and infrastructure providers automatically collect basic technical data when you use the Services, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and usage data. This is used to keep the Services running securely and to diagnose problems. We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
We do not ask for or intentionally collect sensitive personal information such as your race, religion, health, or biometric identifiers.

The core of PractiMate is powered by third-party artificial intelligence providers, currently OpenAI and AssemblyAI. To generate your feedback, the text of your answer (and, where you record audio, the audio sent for transcription) is transmitted to and processed by these providers on our behalf. They return the transcription and the feedback, which we store with your session so you can review it.
We share with these AI providers only what is needed to produce your feedback. We do not use your answers to train our own models. The feedback PractiMate generates is for practice purposes only and does not guarantee any interview or employment outcome. Because your answers may contain personal details you choose to include, please avoid entering information you would not want processed by a third-party AI provider.
If you are in the EEA or UK, we rely on the following legal bases to process your information: performance of a contract (to provide the Services you sign up for), legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, and improve the Services, and to prevent fraud), consent (where you have given it, which you may withdraw at any time), and legal obligations (where the law requires it).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Services, each under a contract that limits how they may use it:

We use essential cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to keep the Services secure. We do not currently use cookies for analytics or advertising. Most browsers let you remove or reject cookies, but doing so may stop parts of the Services from working, such as staying logged in.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. You can delete individual practice sessions at any time from within your account. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we are required to keep certain records by law or need them to resolve disputes or prevent abuse. As noted above, audio recordings are not retained after transcription.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the Services at your own risk and should protect your account password.
The Services are not intended for anyone under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at practimate.ai@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can review and update much of your information directly in your account, including deleting your saved sessions. To make any other request, or to delete your account, email us at practimate.ai@gmail.com. We will respond in accordance with applicable law. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a resident of California or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access or delete it, to correct inaccuracies, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Some browsers offer a "Do-Not-Track" (DNT) setting. Because there is no agreed industry standard for how to respond to DNT signals, we do not currently respond to them. If a standard is adopted, we will update this policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we may provide additional notice. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
